Safe to eat or no?
I canned our potato harvest last year for the first time. Followed the nchfp guidelines.
I can’t tell if they’re safe to eat now. They smell fine. And there’s no sign of spoilage but the liquid is throwing me off.
The liquid is almost gelatinous and (excuse me) resembles a certain ahem male bodily fluid.

    that’s potato starch, it’s totally normal

  2. Rinse the starch off. If you used russet potatoes, it tends to be more starchy than the waxy ones.
