My boyfriend brought home a huge bag full of different peppers from a coworker. I am assuming the blue circle is big jalapeños? And the yellow is your standard sized ones. No idea what kind the purple circle are, and is the red one just a random red jalapeño?

Yellow looks like Jalapenos, I am also curious about the blue and purple. I think the red miiiiight be a cayenne? Following because I am also still learning about peppers!

  2. Yellow – Jalepenos. Blue and Purple to me look like a variety of banana pepper.

Yellow circle is jalapenos, red looks like my serranos. I have some like the blue circle but I also don’t remember what that kind is LOL. They are not big jalapenos tho they are like annaheims or something, no heat.

  4. Blue circle are Anaheim or hatch type chilis. Yellow jalapeño. Red looks like a ripe jalapeño. Purple could be a Hungarian wax pepper or possibly an Italian pepper that was picked a little too early.

Purple looks like a Hungarian wax pepper

Yellow for sure is jalapeño, red could be a serrano, fresno, or a jalapeño that ripened to red, purple is either anaheim or Hungarian wax, blue could also be Anaheim. Purple and blue look like mild pepper varieties regardless and would taste great charred, then stuff of used as an ingredient, yellow and red will be medium to hot. The yellows would be great as poppers and the red pepper I’d use in a chili or sauce of some sort for heat.

I’d say yellow is jalapenos, and blue look just like my Anaheims. I couldn’t tell you on the red one (maybe a ripe jalapeno?) or the purple. My suggestion is to take a nibble of each to figure it out that way! Bananas would be pretty sweet, Anaheim are a bit spicier than a bell pepper, but not much, and of course jalapenos are pretty spicy.

The purple and blue ones, if there is no heat and get wrinkled fast but rich pepper flavor those are probably Japanese shishito peppers

Blue are New Mexican chiles. Purple is Anaheim, Yellow is Jalapenos, Red looks like a ripe jalapeno.

Anaheim, jalapeño, hungarian wax, and a ripe red jalapeno(they turn red and ripen if you don’t pick them).

To add: the purple circle, they are not as firm as the other ones, a tad “squishy” definitely wrinkly. Blue is sturdy like if I tried to snap it in half it would def give the same vibe as ripping a bell pepper in half.

    Yellow – jalapeños | Blue – poblano | Purple – banana pepper | Red – chilli pepper

The red is either a red jalapeño or a Serrano pepper. All are chilis though lol

Purple is cubanelle, blue is Anaheim imo, yellow is jalenpeno and red could be seranno or jalepeno (super ripened)

Already plenty of answers, the red pepper I think is an overripe jalapeno, Serrano’s are usually skinnier.

Yellow is jalapeno gigante and purple is hot banana peppers

  17. The blue is Pimiento italiano and the purple is Pimiento trampo. How do I know…… I’m a farmer in spin with hundreds of these plants that I have to pick every 2 days!
Where in the world are you cause the trampo is fairly specific to Mallorca?!

    Red: ripe serrano
    Yellow: jalapeno
    Blue: anaheim
    Purple: cubanelle

  19. Yellow for sure jalapeño.

Purple could be banana or hugarian wax (which are interchangeable in cooking). But they’re a bit “wrinkly” looking which makes me think its a more exotic variety like Corno Di Toro. I grow both banana and hungarian wax and they tend to be pretty neat cones. Trim a bit and taste it, how spicy it is will help you narrow it down, or just use them.

Blue look like Anaheim or similar to me. Could be cubanelle. They’re too green to be ripe for the Hungarian Wax or Banana varieties.

Red could be a million different red peppers but I’d put good money on Serano. If it has the brown “stretch marks” its probably a jalapeño that turned red.

Purple looks like my sweet banana chilli I’ve still got growing

All of it looks like something I’d toss in the food processor and turn into pepper jelly lol.

Yellow look like jalapenos, purple look like banana peppers, blue look like Hatch/Anaheim chilies, and red looks like a serrano that’s turned color which are also what the green peppers to the very top right of the bell peppers appear to be (above the row of non-circled jalapenos)

  23. eamonneamonn666

Peppers for sure. nah, jalapeno on the left, the middle might be surrenos or not totally ripe banana peppers. The red one I think is a jalapeno as well. Little known fact, jalapenos turn red if left on the Vine longer, and a more known fact: green peppers are just read peppers picked early (too early imo).

  24. eamonneamonn666

And the yellow are banana peppers. Idk why people are saying they a jalapenos. That’s not at all what jalapenos look like. Just google and you’ll see. They look exactly like the green ones on the bottom left, which is what they are.
