  1. Haha german here: You are correct that this is authentic. But there are regions in germany where it is pretty frowned upon to put the sauce on top of the crunchy schnitzel. You might even get yourself into the crossfire if the german crowd from [/r/SchnitzelVerbrechen ](https://www.reddit.com/r/SchnitzelVerbrechen/) arrives.

  2. I’m 100% sure that tasted delicious, but this photo is truly terrible. It’s giving Martha Stewart vibes

  3. The culture is more about filling hunger and heartiness after working IMO. Also I can imagine with central and northern European culture more in tune with Protestant beliefs that they view gluttony as a sin and only eating food for survival being a part of their food culture vs Catholic France/italy with their gastronomic cultures as to why German cuisine doesn’t get praise like those other two cultures.

Where in Berlin can I try this? I’ve been here for almost a year and I’ve never tried authentic German food.

My German-student daughter LOVES Schnitzel; I’ve never served it with sauce on, I’m glad to know that that’s apparently the right way to do it.
