We went for dinner at Mariscos San Pedro in Pielsen, that opened last month in the place that used to be Duseks. I was excited to see something new taking over the space of a restaurant that I used to love before covid.

It is a very lively spot and the service is amazing. If you can, get a spot at the kitchen counter that faces the wood ovens. This will both let you get an idea of what you might like (we added a plate just because it looked so good) and admire the cooks (chefs?) work beautifully.

Everything we ate was good, but some things were incredible. What really impressed us were:

1) the snapper ceviche. Probably the best ceviche I had in chicago

2) the wood fire prawns with salsa macha.

3) the taco with shrimp and the one with brandade

4) the scallops with ndjua. Very different from the rest of the dinner, but very good.

Overall there are no doubts that I will go back. The service and the food were both perfect, the price reasonable. What else do you need?
