Eat cake, drink vodka. Delete this picture and tell no one.

    Problem solved.

The cake itself looks a little weird. Doesn’t look soft or is it just the picture?

It’s underbaked which is probably why it fell unfortunately ☹️ you should bake to a golden color regardless of toothpick test

There is cake, there is Tito’s, I’m not seeing a problem.
Ok fine. It does look a bit under baked, but more importantly, did you grease the pan? IIRC you’re not supposed to do that for angel food cakes.
Next time do this but put it on a plate or other surface you don’t mind eating off of.

Ruh roh. I see a trifle in your future

Oh! Now I get why my pan has these little feet!

I’ve never seen a cake cooled like this on a bottle. Wasn’t flipping the tin upside down  always going to drop the cake?

Cake still looks delicious. Bit of icing and I’d eat it no problems.

  8. Lol, I thought this was a really ugly lamp at first.
Cover it plenty of whipped cream, no one will know 🙂

  9. I see in a previous reply you mentioned it being an older pan. My angle food pan is also with no feet. I place mine upside down on a cookie cooling rack/grate to create a sense of feet.

I don’t get it, what was the plan here?

I thought this was a weird lamp, lol.

The top should be dark golden brown. No toothpick test should be necessary on an angel food cake. Make sure you use an oven thermometer to verify the oven is at temp before putting the cake in. The recipe bake time is an estimate. I’m sure it was still tasty though!

That’s alright. Piece it back on, and ta-da! Nothing happened 😆

I thought this was a “real or cake?” meme with some kinda vintage lamp made from a bottle 💀

At first I thought this was some kind of lamp that the base had broken on and I was so confused why it was on a baking sub

  16. Firm_Elk9522

I thought someone found some weird lamp on the thrift sub.

My condolences, usually after filling them upside down and letting them cool you have to scrape the sides with a really sharp knife to get them to come out. You need a different pan for angel food this one is too smooth on the sides. I have seen angel food cake pans at lots of second hand stores. Most people are put off by the weird “handles” so the pans usually go for cheap like a few bucks or so. The last one I saw was selling for 5$

I thought this was an “Is It Cake?” type illusion of some kind of lamp-cake.

I’ll take that chunk for a red light stop snack !

Yeah, I’m only batting like 50% making angel food cakes from scratch.
