I’ve had 3 or 4 webber over the years..waste of money. I broke down and bought a Holland-WELL worth the money. Also have a PitBoss pellet grill, LOVE them both!!!

It’s 💯 worth every penny. I respectfully vehemently disagree with the other poster here. Weber Genesis grills are great quality. They have great temperature control and they don’t rust out. They pay for themselves and last for years and years. My current Genesis was bought in 2020 and had been sitting outside in the midwest the whole time. Not a spot of rust. I cook on it probably 3 days a week during the summer and a few times a month the rest of the year. All I’ve had to do with mine is refill the propane as needed.

Edit: I have this exact grill in your pics. I bought it from Lowe’s.

My Weber Genesis is like 17 years old and still looks and works great. I replaced the internals once.

  4. My Genesis is 12 years old. I use it 2-3 times a week, and cover it. Besides needing to clean it, it runs just like the day I bought it.

There is a reason the Weber stock did so poorly and was taken off the New York Stock Exchange. No, that reason is not poorly built grills. The reason is the opposite. Weber builds high quality grills that last a lot longer than the cheaper alternatives, meaning customers do not come back to buy new grills that often.

    Buy the used one!

350 seems steep. I would try to get them to $250-300. But definitely by the Weber

  10. I would buy that for $300 in an instant. That grill will last you a very long time.

Even a Used 1989 Weber is better than a New Napoleon let alone Charbroil or any of those other shitty DIY grills.

Those crapping on a Weber have never cooked on one. Let alone owned one.

There’s a reason it’s what it is. It didn’t happen by accident and have been continually in business since 52’

My genesis is 11 years old. Changed out the heat deflectors once, but that’s all. Everything else is still 100. Cast iron grates are still great. I use it 2-3 times a week.

We moved into a townhouse a few years back. I didn’t want to buy an expensive grill and keep out in the back. So I bought this nexgrill from Home Depot. It was 150 bucks. I loved that grill. I got super hot, it had even heat, and it did not rust.

I was shocked how good that cheap grill was. I thought it would last a year.

  14. Saitherino

i threw out my nexgrill i got at homedepot for a 20+ yearold genesis i found on the side of the road. about 100$ worth of parts and new grates and the thing cooks a hell of a lot better than the nexgrill

unless they have been heavily abused webers are pretty bulletproof and there’s plenty of official and 3rd party replacement parts available my parents have a weber spirit at their camp that’s probably about 20 years old

I love portrait screenshots of landscape photos

Used Webber IS better than a $300 Home Depot Grill. FACT!

there, I took the liberty of fixing your title. That should never be a question. Unless the Webber is FUBAR it will always be a fact.

  18. benphillips_

My parents have two of these. Im waiting for them to upgrade so I can take theirs

Go for the Weber, then next season, find an inexpensive Weber charcoal kettle (I found a Deluxe for $75) on Craigslist/marketplace and you’ll have both angles covered

  20. HoeLeeChit

My job is picking up junk, and I find webers all the time. I’m always upgrading when I find something better than what I got

  21. I have a Genesis for over 20 years and it sits outside all year without a cover and every spring it fires right up. The first time I have to start it with a lighter but after that the auto light does its job

  22. Semprovictus

my weber genesis 2 335 has been outside on my deck for 3 years straight, in the ridiculously temperamental climate of the Canadian okanagan.

not a spec of rust or damage. use the thing damn near every day with honestly poor cleaning and upkeep schedule.

    it’s a workhorse, you won’t be disappointed

  23. kpofasho1987

I think it really depends on how much use you plan on getting out of it and how much effort you will put in to protecting it from the elements and general upkeep.

If you’re going to use it like atleast once every week or 2 for 6-8 months out of the year or atleast a decent amount maybe I’m unrealistic I’d say splurge for the webber.

If a grill just seems like a cool idea and you might not use it all that often then go the cheaper route as those can still get the job done and then you can upgrade to a higher end one when that one inevitably craps out in about 4-5 years

So really only you can truly answer if it’s worth it or not.

The webber is by far better but if it’s not going to get a lot of use and/or just sit out in a really humid/hot environment then save the money and go with a cheaper brand.

Also just completely depends on your financial situation. I’d say the webber is absolutely worth it to anyone that will be somewhat serious about grilling but if it’s something you’re somewhat on the fence on then save the money imo

Edit: ah I wasn’t even considering the whole used aspect and the price being lower. Since the used price is close to the new price I’d go with a used webber. My post above really only makes sense if you were considering buying new

  24. sc_ratnick

Absolutely!! I’ve only bought used Webers for the last 15 years. Nothing like getting a $1200 grill for $200. They’re like the small block Chevrolet of grills…. Lots of replacement parts are available

  25. ACHlLLESCPA

Costco had e335 for 599 for clearance

Pretty decent if one was available at local

  26. Life_Ad6843

Buy the used genesis 2. I have this and a 2023 genesis. The genesis 2 is better made.

I’m currently waiting on my warrantied replacement burners for my genesis 2 and will use my new one as a griddle. I will keep the genesis 2 for regular grilling

  27. LeepOnMyDick

Stainless 3 burner Spirit owner here. Purchased in 2018, still runs great and has given me zero issues. All I’ve done is clean it and replace propane. It lives outside in Wisconsin, used regularly, covered with a cheap expert grill Walmart cover when not in use.
