I get that you are referring to this community as “sandwich-OH-nee-uns” but I’m still chuckling that I read it as “fellow sandwich-onions”.
And for tips: Lightly toast the bread innards. Don’t put tomatoes directly against the bread, separate them with the lettuce, make sure the lettuce is well dried. If you can, pack the condiments like oil and vinegar, mayo, etc separately and apply them just before you serve.
