I love these. I’ve made them before and I’m not a fan of how the cocoa powder makes my house smell. I will say I’ve only ever used generic brands like Kroger or Great Value. Any suggestions on the best quality coco powder to use instead?

I made these from the Betty Crocker Cookie Book all of the time as a kid and young adult. They were my go to for a dessert for potlucks and bake sales. I got my first cookie dough scoop so I could make them more uniform.

We called them anthrax cookies in boarding school because if you breathed in when you took a bite, you’d choke on the powdered sugar. Also, this was shortly after 9/11 and we were thinking about anthrax a lot
