Simple is best with pie. From the first pic, I would say dough was overworked so you could get the amazing-looking end result. Don’t go for fancy, go for basic flaky crust. Then, once you have mastered that, go all out fancy. Really, though, with the best flaky crust, you probably won’t be able to get this kind of result, but who cares? It’s the taste and feel in your mouth that counts!
