Michelin recently added Blanca, Ilis, and Sushi Sho among several other NY/Chicago/DC restaurants to its newest edition of the guide. Though the star ceremony has not yet taken place, these restaurants are guaranteed to be featured in the guide.

What really stands out is the amount of praise they give to Sushi Sho. The phrases “mastery of the highest order”, “an omakase like no other” and “the kitchen and service teams work in perfect tandem” are not things Michelin takes lightly, and makes me believe they will debut with at least 2 (but very likely 3) Michelin stars.

It would be the funniest thing if Sho gets to debut as a 3 star and Atomix is told to kick rocks for like the fifth year in a row.

It had better be like no other with the truly absurd pricing. I’m sure it’s wonderful, but $450 for the “short omakase” with the assumption you’ll add on $200-300 more pieces is absolutely unhinged when Shion, Yoshino, etc exist at an already very high price point and exceptional quality

Kinda ironic since it was rumored that Nakazawa-san kicked out the Michelin inspector when he visited his original in Tokyo all those years ago. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that Michelin since then had a grudge against any restaurant he or his disciples ran hence their exclusions from Michelin in Japan.

We have Sushi Sho here in Stockholm it was amazing. Is it the same brand? I met some celebs there didn’t expect it to be so bougey 😂
