Let’s start a carbs flame war on this sub. Love the idea

  2. Plenty of people eat very low carb long term. I’m type one diabetic, with us we precede the modern keto community by a long while, ie Bernstein followers.

Anyway there are zero essential carbohydrates.

Ppl say that sugar is the brains favorite food. But that doesn’t mean it’s required or that everyone operates better with it.

Safety goes back a long long ways. Ie maybe a century ago, ketogenic diet was the cure for epilepsy.

Can search picture of Richard Bernstein. Type one diabetic diagnosed in the 40s still teaching at 90. Last of his generation basically. Been very low carb (30g carbs / day) since the 70s.

Anyway just saying it’s safe, you can go *a meal* without carbs and probably for life. Shawn baker has eaten nothing but meat for like a decade lol

A nice scoop of garlic mashed or a baked potato

Depends on your style or hunger. We eat too many carbs with all the meats and veggies. For vegetarians, carbs are key. Your plate will keep u fueled.

I like to go without carbs for at least 2 weeks once a quarter, when I do eat carbs I steer away from processed carbs, sourdough bread is as close as I get and try to stay under 70ish grams per day. Been doing this for a few years and I’m in much better shape, feel mych better body and mind. So no, you don’t need carbs

That green stuff next to the steak are carbs. I would argue that you don’t need to eat any green stuff with your steak because your steak only exists because the cow was eating green stuff so therefore the steak has been infused with green stuff.

  7. That asparagus needed a little more frying. And you need more steak. That’s all.

No but the asparagus looks a little undercooked

I’d need more something to eat if that was my plate. Most carbs are cheap and easy to cook and pair well.

I’d be getting some tacos about 2 hours after this meal

  11. What is this?! A dinner for ants *breaks plate*

  12. I think pepper might have some carbs in it 😂

Could do with some mash potato, fries or something similar. I’d eat your plate there regardless. Just put more steak on the plate haha

  14. I prefer to eat my steak without carbs – w meat and a veggie I feel super full and can feel less bad about the size of the steak because when I eat a steak it’s like at least double what’s on your plate lmfao

Also those asparagus look less like they were cooked and more like they took a warm bath

Honestly I’d suggest a fruit instead, maybe like a cucumber salad to reset the palate after every bite of steak.

some diced, well seasoned potatoes would pair nicely with this meal imo

No carbs were harmed in the making of this meal!
