The lid was sitting on top of my machine so it was too hot to properly hold down. Popped off on my last shake and the rest is as you can see.

Yes. Watching Lance Hedrick and the Weber promotional videos, you get the impression that it is the cleanest workflow ever, but in practice—even when it works properly—you’ll see grinds everywhere.

It’s your defective grinder. Send it to me for ethical disposal, ha. I’ve wanted one of those for a while. I did almost the same thing yesterday. I knocked the spindle and a third of my ground dumped.

I have the same beans and digging them. What’re your thoughts?

  3. I bought a small portable eletric vacuum in aliexpress for something like 20 bucks, makes this situation super easy to deal with, and my coffee corner is always nice.

“I didn’t hold down the lid and it came off”

How do you like those beans? Sounds delicious

I have been just holding the dosing cup on the portafilter and giving it a few vertical shakes. Seems to mix things up well enough and doesn’t add a step to my workflow. Just grind, shake, tap, tamp, brew.

  7. Puck spreader is working just fine. Couldn’t deal with needles and will not deal with this either

  8. damn , fuck that i will stick to the basic WDT tool

The first time I used it I forgot it doesn’t work like your avarage can and grabbed it on the top and the bottom after I filled it and put the lid on. That didn’t work at all.

Now I mainly use it to get the grinds neatly into the porta filter, since I don’t have a funnel thing. But I must say I don’t notice much of a difference in taste and if anything, there are more lumps and less fluffy after shaking.
