As you move up the pepper scale, be sure to treat the hottest peppers with real respect. These things (***with high levels of capsaicin and 100,000+ SHU***) are seriously hot.
(Personal note: Peppers at 100,000 SHU include *Scotch Bonnet, Pimenta de Neyde, and Jamaican Hot Yellow*. Habanero is 250,000 SHU; Carolina Reaper and Trinidad Scorpion is 1.5million+ SHU.)
Chili pepper burns are caused by an irritating substance found in the skin of the pepper. This burn can feel like a sunburn, a throbbing and prickling feeling, or a very intense, hot pain.
The best treatment is to wash the area with soap and water and then put a large amount of vegetable oil on the area for at least an hour. If the burning feeling is on your hands, dip your hands in vegetable oil for the hour.

Capsaicin doesn’t generate heat.
Pretty sure it was just the fact that it was hot on the grill and not the spiciness. Or you are allergic
hey buddy you forgot making jokes on reddit is illegal
I’m glad I’m not the only person who cuts hotdogs sausage bratwurst kielbasa like this
I wouldn’t recommend grilling spicy peppers. They become bitter. Atleast, that’s what happened to me.

Bro give those peppers and onions 8 minutes in a pan
Or pour boiling vinegar on them and let them sit till they are cold.
I bet raw onion was great but try it!
Holy fuck that would be the worst if that sucker shot into your eye 😯
I once ground up dried habaneros with my fingers. Turns out, I found that you should not do this.
At least 5
The finished product looks fantastic. Gotta play through the pain, right?
