Hi all,
I’ve been combing this sub Reddit for some time now and am invested in purchasing my first machine. I have the DF64 V2 being delivered this week and was all in on a Bambino Plus for my first machine, however I’ve found a used Profitec600 on marketplace that seems like a great deal. It’s about 3.5 years old and looks in great shape.
Attached is a picture of the ad, everything for $1000. I’m mainly interested in making Macchiatos and Cortados, not too big of latte people but maybe the occasional mocha for the wife.
After some research, it seems like the consensus is to get the best machine you’re able to afford, even if you’re a beginner.
Is this a good deal (seems like it is)? Would I be out of my element by purchasing this as a first machine?
The one drawback to me is the heat up time in a machine like this, but I’m sure I could put it on a timer switch.

Good long term investment 👍🏻
That’s a fantastic deal for a PP600 if it’s in good condition
Great deal but don’t do any deposits in advance, scams on marketplace are rampant nowadays.
Nice machine. Seems to be a good price as well. They are not hard to maintain and many of the parts are pretty standard for these E61 grouphead types of Italian machines.
That is honestly bonkers. You lucky duck.
A Profitec dual boiler for $1000 is an amazing deal, especially with the accessories. You’re either very lucky, or being scammed, beware.
Profitec makes IMS quality baskets, so no need to upgrade those any time soon.
Tip: check if there’s any proof of maintenance, like an invoice. Also ask what water/filter was used. If that’s a blank, descale thoroughly before use.
Even if you need to pay a couple hundred bucks for a good service it’s still a good deal. And honestly the heat up time is not that bad. I’ll switch it on and walk the dog or make breakfast and it’s ready when I’m done. Our is a 300 so it may heat up quicker.
It’s like buying a used car. It could be a hit or miss.
The bottle of cafiza is a good sign, as long as it’s been opened. I’d ask about the water they have used in the machine, hopefully they tell the truth. Like someone else said if you can examine the machine before purchase check shower screen and other regular maintenance parts. If it’s in good condition I’d say it’s definitely worth it.
Please don’t send money before meeting the seller, I’ve had so many friends and family get scammed.
