Do you read sandwiches top to bottom or bottom to top?
Would you say this sandwich has mayo, lettuce tomato, turkey and cheese or is it a cheese, turkey, tomato, lettuce and mayo sandwich?

I was a Jimmy John’s mayo master for 6 years. I’d go meat, cheese, veggies, condiments, bread.

Idk I never learned to read in sandwiches. But I feel like it makes the most sense to do proteins, cheese, toppings, and then condiments
FHCynicalCortex
Neither, i go by what the ingredients are, starting with meat, then toppings, then condiments

Meat(s) (or primary constituent), then “lettuce and tomato”, then other shit, then cheese, then bread
“turkey, lettuce and tomato with provolone, on rye”
“BLT with swiss on italian”
“Cucumber and cream cheese on white”
“Ham and cheese on sourdough”

Wow good question. For me it’s top to bottom but society has been programmed to go bottom to the top due to sandwich and burger commercials.

I start in the middle and go up and down at the same time also I would love some bacon on this sandwich.
Cattysnoop
I stop reading once I see there’s no bacon.

If I were ordering this I would definitely say: I’d like turkey with Swiss, lettuce and tomato (in my case mustard) on white bread toasted.

Hmmm…….. I always start with the star of the show. For me, that’s always the meat. Next is the type of bread, then comes the topping: veggies, cheese and lastly the sauces.
