Pulled the trigger on the Kirkland light roast. I think it tastes the way the tire center smells.
Yeah, I don’t like this very much. It honestly tastes like a cross between black tea and black tires. Has anyone else tried it?

That ascaso rebadge is hilarious

Yeah, I waited a while for this one to hit my Costco. It finally arrived and… I don’t quite hate it, but it does absolutely nothing for me.

Suspect it’s not that light.

The only offering I’ve enjoyed from Costco, apart from bulk bags of common brands like Peet’s and Starbucks, is the Ruta Maya medium roast, which actually had a roast date on the bag and reminded me of specialty coffee beans.

I bought a bag from Costco…. Brought it right back. Crappy squared.

Might it be your machine? It’s labeled “ass”

I have tried a few light roasts from a shop called Futura. I finally realized I prefer darker roasts for my espresso and lighter roasts for my flash brew pourovers.

Yeah, probably a coffee that’s better suited to a pourover. Not impossible to get a good espresso, but certainly not easy.

Starbucks uses the extra dark roast to hide the crappy beans they buy. I wonder how kirkland does it with light roasted beans. It scares me to think to hard on it. I just stick with something roasted ~locally.

I like it. Better than a lot of the locally roasted coffee I have tried. Not the greatest thing ever, but I used to spend $20/12 oz and this is $10/lb. It took me a little while to get it dialed in right and requires preheating with my cafelat robot. Very sweet and fruity, defineily not getting any tire flavor.
