It wouldn’t be a post about something german if there’d be no german to chime in about how this is illegal, so here I am!
According to [§18 Abs. 9 StVO](https://www.gesetze-im-internet.de/stvo_2013/__18.html) (the German Traffic Law), it is illegal for Pedestrians to set foot on the Autobahn. Per Definition, as soon as you leave your vehicle, you are a pedestrian. So having dinner like that is actually an offense under german law.
