  1. I’ve never had a Monte Cristo sandwich before but it looks yummy 😋 I’m gonna try it. A strawberry jelly dipping sauce ?! Now you’re just talking dirty! LOL 😂 That sounds scrumptious!
Have a fantastic weekend Jeff ❤

  2. Hey Jeff! I'm visiting southern Pennsylvania for the first time and just tried one of these at Lucky Spot in Hanover! You have any recommendations on places I should see before I go? Brewerys, knives, really anything.

  3. Watching you cook and I was thinking…do you have Aldi by you, if so check out their cold cuts and cheese selection, very thrifty and much better than Wally World! Great video!

  4. DUDE! Great minds think alike… just last week I was searching YouTube looking for recipes on monte cristo sandwiches!!!

  5. God, I have always loved the variety of content that comes from your channel. You never know what you'll get with Jeff!
    Home-run with this recipe btw.
The Monte Cristo is my favorite sandwich of all time. Best one I've ever had was at the Blue Bayou restaurant inside the pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. I believe It's served deep fried, hit with powdered sugar, and it's got maple syrup on the side. INSANE combo, but I think it's the sole reason I'd go back to Disney.

  6. Looks great! I do them a little differently, though. I will usually set them up like a club with three pieces of bread (although, yeah, that ain't at all low carb). I will put the ham and one kind of cheese (usually Swiss) on the bottom part and the turkey and another kind of cheese (I like cheddar) on the top. When I make French toast – or Monte Christo sandwiches – I do an egg wash by adding a splash of milk to the eggs. Not enough to thin the egg too much but just thin enough to soak into the bread better and be a little less egg-y. I then assemble the sandwich, put the completed sandwich in the egg wash on both sides and proceed to cook it like a grilled cheese sandwich. I don't need the oven step because everything gets warmed through and the cheese gets melty as the bread grills, again, just like a grilled cheese. That way I get some of the egg wash coating on the sides of the sandwich, too. Not a thick coating – thin enough that it cooks through, as well – and not necessarily a solid coating around the sides. Obviously the middle piece of bread doesn't get grilled unless it is done separately. Nothing wrong with your method – just different from mine.

Red currant jelly on the side to dip the sandwich in is traditional. But, hey, if you prefer strawberry (I'm not crazy about strawberry) it's your sandwich. I think the jelly thing came about because the Monte Christo is traditionally a brunch sandwich – but, as you say, they are good any time

  7. After trying the Sara Lee Artesano bread I was hooked, its miles better texture wise than any other bread at the store, in my opinion

  8. This is the easy way to do it at home,,, but another way the sandwich is made by putting all the ingrediants on it just like he did but then the whole sandwich is egg dipped and deep fried (held together with tooth picks untill cooked), had a girlfriend a few years ago that owned a restaurant and was a highly trained gourmet chef and that is how she did them at the restaurant,,,,holy hell were they good,,,,served them powder sugared and with home jam of some sort depending on what she had handy at the moment,,,, no wonder I gained a bunch of weight back then LOL.

  9. im being shown this because i had a monte crisco for the first time in over a decade a few days ago and have been telling people (in proximity of my phone of course) how delicious I was. I will not be watching this video just expressing my distaste for how corporations are spying on us. I wish you well friend and I will leave a thumbs up for my rant.

  10. Does anyone else love about Jeff's channel that even though he has been very successful, he still keeps it simple and lime old school youtube. I miss those days when there were smaller channels with simple made at home videos. They just had more character and were comfortable. Before today's YouTube with millions of subscribers and professionally edited channels with sponsors and overly polished and for profit content. I miss when it was just people making videos because they enjoyed it as a hobby.
