    You may actually be eating a lot of food, but not necessarily calories. Mediterranean diet is heavy on plants, which are rich in fiber–filling but not calorically dense.

    Most people count calories wrong and vastly underestimate what they consume. “Surely this small cookie has only 20 calories” when it’s 200. This diet may bias you in the other direction, to overestimate.

    I eat 5 pretty big meals a day, and roughly 2300 calories (sometimes more), to maintain 123lbs at just under 5’6″.

    Your meal looks gorgeous. I love cottage cheese and beets too, even though they can be controversial to some! Yesterday I was just wickedly craving cottage cheese and had some with both snack and dinner. Mmm.
