They served me a bowl of instant ramen with a an overcooked hard boiled egg and no β€œkatsu” which I found out later was a chicken tender… $8 well spent lol

So many mixed emotions to this, was this like in a H-mart in California/LA, or someplace where there aren’t much Asian population/food around?

Also at $8 USD (I’m imaging the ‘katsu,’ or chicken tender was $4, so realistically $4 bowl), I think expecting a decent bowl of ramen is lying to yourself, let alone from a Korean store in a food hall / mall.

Never order ramen from Korean stands my man, they’ll give you instant ramyun, korean style. (which, in its own right is amazing and good if that’s what you’re looking for, but definitely not worth the restaurant price, and definitely not japanese ramen.)

Honestly, yeah, don’t know what you expected for $8, good ramen is at least $10

  4. I dont see anything wrong,This is Ramyun, its Korean ramen, Its what they always serve in pop up shops, food stands and small restaurants, not just in Korea but in other countries as well. That’s pretty much it, the only crime here is 8 usd. Which is where im from can buy 2 packs (4 pieces each) of shin Ramyun in the groceries. Lol.
