First time growing peppers. The plant was not the healthiest but produced a couple of fruit that I let mature on the plant. Decided to save some seed and discovered that some look dark colored. Is this normal and does it mean that I picked the pepper too early or too late?

Most look good, sometimes seeds just don’t develop properly or maybe start to rot here and there just don’t use them and use the good ones that have no dark spots
