Saved seeds from a big squash I bought from a farm stand in western Colorado. Stand labeled it as Hubert squash. Vines are about 30-40 feet long and have taken over the whole garden area! They weigh 18lb and 14lb. I am very proud!! Feel free to post your fav winter squash recipe because we will be eating a lot of squash soon!

Was it Hubert or Hubbard? I haven’t heard of any varieties named ‘Hubert,’ but Hubbards are very popular varieties of this species of squash, Cucurbita maxima, and this looks a lot like a Hubbard crossed with something like a banana squash (another variety of C. maxima).
