I made a lemon raspberry cake for my grandma’s birthday that I’m pretty proud of. It turned out amazing and was absolutely delicious. I made it and all the components over a week but it was gone in less than a day. Sugar in the cakes were mixed with lemon zest. Each cake was soaked with lemon syrup. Lemon syrup came from candying lemon slices. The middle is a mix of lemon curd (jarred this time) mixed with raspberry buttercream to give some stiffness. Buttercream was all raspberry (no coloring). And there are concepts of an ombre attempted. It was my first cake I decorated with a piping bag and tips! I even completely restarted the top because it just looked awful to what it ended up being which was much prettier.
