Trader Joe’s is such a scam store smh

This is what the steaks look like at all my local supermarkets these days, just sad shit. I hate Wal-mart with a passion and something crazy usually happens every time I step foot in one, but Wal-mart has the best steaks around unless I want to go downtown and pay 5x more at a craft butcher.

Can’t find a decent steak to save my life at kingsoopers after covid and I have no idea why, I will pick up sirloins every now and then but never anything else I go to the butcher or costco and pay the price for some quality.

  4. FlickerOfBean

That’s gotta be a5 that the butcher intentionally mislabeled.

  5. AshDenver

Are you sure that’s not a pork chop? I don’t see *any* marbling there.

  6. antique_sprinkler

How could a steak have so little marbling?

  7. blablablablacuck

Looks like mislabeled A5. Load the boat with them lol

  8. YogurtclosetBroad872

That cow was an Olympic athlete

  9. xxMOxx78

That belongs in a can of blue buffalo

  10. CrisbyCrittur

Aldi’s ribeyes put those to shame.

  11. Excellent_Tell5647

Thought it was a sirloin at first

  12. llslothll

Is Costco not the “deal” anymore?

Ground beef will forever be undefeated. Growing up steak was often too expensive, so the advent of the “hamburger steak” came to fruition for my household. A local diner sold hamburger steak and eggs as a specialty. It was tremendous. We didn’t have much, but we didn’t know what there was to have, so by default we had everything.

    That’s fat cap low marbeling

  15. Lonely-Truth-7088

Damn….didn’t know they had ribeye cuts of liver

  16. AnAnonymousParty

That’s not a ribeye steak, that’s a ribeye *style* steak.

Remember now marbling despite being delicious isn’t good for you. It’s feeding cows a whole bunch of grain and other slop to fatten them up so they taste delicious. True grass fed cows have little marbling and they taste gamey. But they’re actually healthy for you and have as much omega fattyacid as salmon. So I’m not surprised Trader Joe’s would be selling this “healthy” steak. It won’t taste great, but I won’t clog your coronaries either.

Notice – it is only USDA inspected and has no grading. Not Select, Choice, etc. Never buy that and let them know that you notice what they are doing

Mad cow disease… poor thing lost its marbles

  20. soulsproud

That’s not even steak yo. That’s like a giant piece of liver.

  21. swampy13

This cow was either a mover or sprinter

  22. honore_ballsac

This poor cow was a healthy one. No chance of cardiovascular disease.

  23. MysticMar89

This how my gf picks steaks 😔

  24. GloriousKev

You sure that’s not an eraser?

  25. Namelecc

I knew this was TJ’s the moment I saw the steak… before seeing the label. I avoid them for steak.

  26. linksfrogs

This should be what people who enjoy well done steak have to buy, if they are gonna ruin meat at least let it be pieces like this.

  27. fernet_about_it

Is it just me or is Trader Joe’s meat/seafood trash?

  28. abby2abby

It’s not even choice…looks like select which is like an old dairy cow

  29. stewajt

    $14/lb and it’s not even graded?!?! 🤣

  31. darth_voidptr

The health-food craze really has helped cattle slim down.

  32. TrubledBootySnatcher

    Thought that was liver…

  33. rustyshklfrd

Is the marbling in the room with us right now?

  34. Educational_Ad_3922
