  1. 100% no. Carbona isn’t bougie to begin with. And you can make it with the actual ingredients for probably as much as this children’s lunch version costs.

  2. I would mix some pasta water into the eggs to make sure the egg yolks cook but otherwise this looks good.
    I'm not sure its much cheaper than the real thing though

  3. Everyone out here really trying to play saying guanciale and Parmesan or pecorino are as or more affordable than a box of Kraft and a can of spam.

    I agree it doesn’t look great, but it is more affordable. By weight, if you buy larger amounts of guanciale and good cheese, then it might even out. But people who are already at the point of cooking something like this do not have the disposable income to buy pricier ingredients up front even if they would last longer and thus be over all equally affordable.
