It is really bad up here. The hurricane tore apart the small towns north of Asheville. Towns like Micaville have been wiped off the map.
Rescue helicopters, food and water didn’t get up here in Burnsville until yesterday.
Our community in Little Switzerland spent two days cutting our way down driveways to check on residence.
We all pooled food and resources to make sure everyone was fed. The canned food from this years garden were a God send.
It may be three more weeks until we have power back on.
There was no way to any of the small towns for three days after the storm. It took all the local people coming together with whatever equipment that they had to clear a dangerous road down to the hospital.

I grew up in NC and have family there. We spent many vacations in Little Switzerland. This storm is another reason to be prepared. I am so glad you were able to share your food with the community. sounds like you have a long road.
Sending prayers from the Pacific Northwest because that’s all we can really do to help. Hopefully everyone realizes that preparedness is essential.
Oh my god, I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I’m so glad you have food and resources. My wedding in NC this weekend got cancelled because the venue area was destroyed and still no power. I am genuinely just so thankful that I all I lost was that and all my friends and family are safe. The devastation in the area is unspeakable and my heart is breaking for everyone suffering.
