See. That’s a sandwich. I’ve had enough seeing people post jersey Mike’s on this sub.

Legend tell that he’s still digesting this today (200 years later). That is epic!

    you magnificent bastard.

I see someone sent you outdoors to eat that. It’s either that, or get out the sandwich tarp.

    Hoagie roll recipe

For 3 six inch hoagie rolls:
    290 grams of bread flour
    174 grams of water
    23 grams of oil
    6 grams of salt
6 grams of diastatic malt or sugar
2.2 grams of instant dry yeast

Mix all ingredients in a stand mixer or by hand for 10-12 minutes or until the dough isn’t sticky anymore. Once the dough is all mixed, let the dough rest for 30 minutes, covered in a bowl.
Once rested, ball the dough up tightly to a smooth dough ball. Let the dough rise at room temperature for an hour or until the dough doubles in size. Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces and ball them up tightly. Stick the dough balls in the fridge for 24 hours.

After 24 hours, take the dough balls out at room temperature and ball them again. Let the dough balls sit at room temp for 2+3 hours or until the dough balls double in volume.

Once doubled in volume, roll the dough balls into a cigar shape that is 6 inches long. Let them rest in a towel or a deep covered container for 1-2 hours to proof.

Preheat your oven to 500 F with a cast iron dutch oven inside. Once the oven has been heated to 500 F for 30 minutes, take your Dutch oven out of your home oven and place one roll in the oven along with two ice cubes. Cover the Dutch oven so the ice cube melts and steams the dough and bake the Dutch oven for (covered) for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes uncover the lid of your Dutch oven and bake your roll for 5 more minutes or until golden brown. Repeat the same baking steps for the two remaining rolls.

That Italian hoagie looks like it could satisfy any sandwich craving

3000 calories but all of them worth it

Pass. This looks hard to eat in every way.

  17. It looks beautiful, but very hard to eat, plus you get a mouthful of salad at first and eventually none. With less meat it would be perfect. Really appreciate how chill and gracious OP is in the comments regarding any criticism btw.

My first executive order as president would be outlawing all open faced sandwiches. I ordered a sandwich, not a taco – everything flat on the bottom half of the bread. Looks flawless otherwise

You gots to chop this up then put it back inna da bread

Disappointed……That you don’t live near me. That’s disturbingly excellent.

That amount of filling would work better spread across a loaf of Italian bread and sliced into manageable segments. And even better, it’s shareable that way too.

Made from scratch? As in you baked the bread and did the meats?
Or did you just Sandra Lee it?

I don’t think sandwiches made like this are as good as sandwiches that are made with the ingredients flat on top of each other. With a sandwich like that you can’t get a bite of all the parts at once. You get a lot of meat or veggies with each bite but not together.
