My ash basket and fire basket are both pretty beat up.

Should I scrub them before I do a cleaning burn? Or burn first, then scrub and oil?

Should I replace the gasket while I've got it apart? It's got about 300+ cooks on the current (oem) gasket.

Thank you for your assistance.

In my opinion cleaning burn then scrub. If you got it apart sure change the gasket if you want. I’ve had mine 10 years and haven’t changed it yet. Up to you.

Is that a kickash ash catch?

I agree with the others. Fire it up then clean.
