Someone I know was about to throw out a Breville BES250 machine – it’s not functioning due to a kid pouring coffee grounds in the water reservoir(!).

So I brought it home to check it out.

    • I filled the tank with water.

    • Power comes on and switches light up.

    • No water whatsoever comes through the group head, but I can hear the pump working.

    • The steam wand works and emits hot water.

Anyone have any suggestions on whether it might be fixable? Do these machines have a water filter between water reservoir and pump?

    Thanks.

No the kid is not fixable. You better get rid of it.

I would try back flushing it

I feel like I would have trouble not doing everything up to taking machine apart lol

Maybe air? Do you have a compressor

Keep kid away from machine after you clean it out if fixable

Totally fixable. A good talking to by a child therapist oughta do it.

Don’t breville machines have a filter for the water res. It should be okay right?

The water reservoir ought to be detachable. Plus it should have a fine mesh filter in the outlet of the reservoir.

You should be able to clean it up. At the worst fill it halfway. Stir and hold it upside down and drain.
