I’ve been wanting to try this one for a while now, being that Moss Wood being one of the important founding winery’s in Margaret River. Made from their older plantings, and aged for 18 months un 225L French oak barrels, __50%__ new wood.

    ## Tasting note:
A lot of butter, crisp citrus, ripe peach, apple and light mineral notes. High acidity and medium plus finish. Almost just over the edge in terms of wood use, but the fresh acidity and crisp citrus saves it from the edge of the abyss.

It pared unexpectedly well with the spicy wasabi chips. It elevated the wine and made sure the oak wasn’t overbearing. Perfect for a rainy day. These heavy oaked Chardonnays’s from Margaret River are kinda my guilty pleasure. Not something I want to drink every day but for sure once in a while a nice treat. In the end I must say I have had more interesting versions with more minerality and flinty reduction. So I won’t go in for a second bottle of this one.
