Some say eating a burger upside down is better than eating it right side up. Is this true??

Um sorta. Bottomings are definitely better than toppings but you still want the cheese above the burger not below for quality meltage.
I’m a fan of mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, burger, cheese, pickles, ketchup (bottom to top)
Next time you make a siper simple sammich, like ham and cheese or something, try eating half one way up and the other half the other way up. The difference is surprisingly huge.

I don’t eat a burger upside down because I’m not a fucking bat.

what’s ‘upside down’ is relative.
what isn’t relative is that heat rises. things that are better cold (eg shrettuce, tomatos, raw red onion) should be below the patty imho.
It doesn’t appear to be the case here, but if it’s saucy variant (chili burger, anything with queso, etc) I also find the flip to be beneficial because the top bun is almost always thicker, as seen here, and helps to avoid the tragic bottom-bun soggy disintegration.
And I’d also like to offer a hot take to say that even frozen bulk bought tots are better than fries like 85% of the time.

Dean Winchester! Don’t knock it! If you have a messy burger upside down it

I eat them upside down when the bottom bun is particularly thin. Otherwise, the moisture that drips down onto it makes it so soggy that it disintegrates before I’ve had a chance to finish the burger.
