This is AFTER they took it back and cooked it more.

Btw it was supposed to be medium rare.

  2. Smartkoolaid

for 160 you better name that place so i never end up there LOL

  3. Gullible_Mud_7885

Blue af and wildly expensive at a restaurant. You were right to send that back. If I served that to my people, I’d be so overwhelmed with shame that I wouldn’t ever buy a steak again

  4. Single-Ninja8886

How do they even fuck it up like this, I don’t know how people manage to get the middle so raw but the outside medium with the thinnest band of medium rare in between. HOW

  5. stockguy123456789

What is that yellow thing with black on it on the second photo?

  6. Battlepants87

It was too cold, likely frozen or almost. Looks like select grade also.

  7. celtic_sea_salt

Wild. I couldn’t do this if j tried to.

  8. Open_Mind12

Agree with you 100%. Poorly cooked…it’s raw!

  9. NoSpankingAllowed

Dear God someone should be fired.

  10. Crafty-Photograph-18

This sub has taught me that even in expensive areas, no stake should cost over 50, maybe 60 USD. Anything over that, and you’re paying for the restaurant’s name rather than a good meal, which usually is not included with an overly fancy restaurant.

  11. SnooChocolates4137

yup, no one ever orders them so they dont pull them out until needed… this one was still frozen or so cold it may as well have been. they hit it under the broiler checked the temp seen it needed another minute flipped it and blasted it again. but they also knew how bad it was becasue they fucking cut it before serving it.

  12. 954kevin

Well, that sucks that happened on your special night, but this is an eventuality we all run into eventually. It’ll just help you remember the occasion that much more. “Ahh yes, that was the night they sent me the cow that had one more mooo left in it.”

  13. neecho235

The more expensive a steak is, the more likely I am to send it back if it’s not right.

  14. gr3atch33s3

Damn, I would have done the same.

  15. Bro. Cut the pieces so they don’t reheat/cook the same thing again. Doesn’t take time for them to fire up a fresh one.

  16. hard-on234

It’s weird that they re-cooked your steak. Where I’m from, they always give you a new piece of meat whenever they fuck up the temp, whether it was over or under.

  17. UnholyAuraOP

Why do these fancy steakhouses have such bad cooks? I worked at an applebees with dudes who had been there 15 years and would cook 10 steaks, 5 chickens, and be doing more at one time and every steak was exactly right

  18. Certain_Eye7374

Man, you are lucky you still have greens on your plate. Because the beef looked alive enough to eat the salad.

  19. Captain_of_Gravyboat

Start with a fridge cold steak. Cook it at 1500 degrees for 10 seconds.

For when you want every level of doness in one steak. What a trainwreck.

  21. Epicurean1973

I was wondering who didn’t finish cooking their meal

  22. shinecaster

Look how they massacred it. What a shame.

  23. medhat20005

I must admit some level of concern whenever I read about a restaurant that’s a, “modern presentation of the classic American steakhouse.” TBH seems much more a marketing thing than an assurance of good food. Their wine list is reasonable in breadth and price, albeit maybe a bit cookbook. And by advertizing Prime beef I think it’s safe to presume this is indeed a Prime tomahawk. If this is any reflection on their consistency I feel sorry for the establishment and their overcharged customers.

  24. ActiveProfitAmy

    That’s a 10/10 steak for me.

  25. You paid $160 for a frozen ass tomahawk that sucks man.

This is one of the reasons I refuse to order steak (or lobster) at a restaurant. Massive markups for sub-par food.

  26. NVSR3demption

Wow, that is really bad I hope they gave you back your money.

  27. SleepyHobo

I’ve had this happen at a steakhouse before several times, although on ribeyes and NY strips, not a huge steak like that. I would NEVER allow them to reheat the steak, it ruins the crust and overcooks the outermost inner part of the steak.

When this happens, I’ve always given the sever the option of either having their chef cook a new one at the restaurant’s expense or just taking it off the bill and letting me order something else. Otherwise I’m flat out not paying for it. Any steakhouse trying to have a good reputation would never try to reheat a steak in an attempt to cook it better.

  28. boss_taco

For 160, you can get two, three-pack ribeyes from Costco. And make yourself amazing steak everyday for a week. Your artery might rip open but you’ll die happy and full of meat.

  29. Impressive-Bit6161

Must be a young chef. $10 kitchen meat thermometer could have prevented all this.

  30. Copernicus049

Half of it is over cooked and the other half is undercooked. This steak had to have been partially frozen when they pulled it out. It’s the only way you came away with somewhat decently cooked meat and outright not cooked at all meat. There is no salvaging this steak after what they did.

  31. NoCompetition9289

Fun fact: tomahawk is NEVER worth that kind of money. It’s still just something you chew and shit out. Cmon people
