Gateau invisible, or invisible apple cake.
I wanted to try my Nordic Ware loaf pan, and while it turned out pretty, you cant see the apples and almond slices that I placed against the pan. Doing a traditional, parchment-lined loaf pan may have been the better choice to actually highlight the top of the loaf versus inverting it to look at the pan design.
I also do not have a mandolin, so my apple slices may have not been thin enough, but it was still delicious. It's apple-y and cinnamon-y and tastes like fall. My husband really likes it too, says it's like an apple pie in loaf form.

Looks amazing!
Stunning!
r/thanksgiving would love this!
Very pretty. Initially, I thought it was a moon cake.
That is so pretty! You should be proud it looks amazing 🙂
Remember some of the best inventions were mistakes! This is just a happy mistake, a new apple almond bake – you just have to name it and then it’s not a mistake anymore. Looks delicious either way, maybe with some homemade spiced caramel on top mmm.
