Honey Sesame Chicken.

Sticky, crispy chicken with a sesame seed crusted crunch and honey garlic sauce.

INGREDIENTS
*Makes 3-4 servings

+ 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless
+ 1 C flour
+ 1/2 tsp salt
+ 2 eggs, whisked
+ 1 C sesame seeds

HONEY SESAME SAUCE
+ 3 cloves garlic, minced
+ 2 TBSP extra-virgin olive oil
+ 1 tsp sesame oil
+ 1/3 C honey
+ 1/4 C butter
+ 1 TBSP rice vinegar
+ 1 tsp onion powder
+ 1/2 tsp black pepper
+ Salt to taste

DIRECTIONS

+ STEP 1: PREP
Preheat the air fryer or oven to 400°F. Combine the flour and salt together and add to a small plate. Add the sesame seeds to a second small plate. Lastly, add the whisked eggs to a small bowl.

+ STEP 2: COAT
Add the chicken (one piece at a time) to the flour plate and fully coat all sides. Dust off the excess flour and then dip in the whisked egg bowl. Lastly, lay the chicken on the sesame seed plate and fully cover the top with sesame seeds. Firmly press the chicken into the sesame seeds and lightly shake off the excess.

+ STEP 3: COOK
Cook at 400°F for 12-15 minutes in an air fryer or 25-30 minutes in the oven. Give the chicken a flip halfway through. The chicken is done when an internal temp of 165F is reached.

+ STEP 4: HONEY SESAME SAUCE
Add the olive oil to a preheated skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, then lower the heat. Add the sesame oil, honey, butter, rice vinegar, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well and then bring to a low simmer for 10 minutes.

+ STEP 5: COAT
Add the cooked chicken to the pan and fully coat it with the sauce. Optionally, top with green onions or sliced serrano peppers.
