It’s why guga calls it the queen of steaks, the obvious king being a fellet mignon.(Edit: that’s according to guga, and now that I’m thinking about it I’m pretty sure he means the wagyu version, me personally I like steak, period. King, queen, whatever, just give me the steak.

  2. No it’s not. It’s fucking delicious and nobody can deny it. It’s just not a common enough cut that you find at the grocery any given day.

Only reason I ever go to Fogo de Chão

I’ve been looking and haven’t seen it at local stores. I may have missed when they do have it. Definitely on my find list. Fogo de Chao is the only place I have had it. Loved it, well I love all the meat there actually.

its literally been blown up on the internet 10000000000000 times over lol. definitely properly rated. its price has shot up since americans and europeans learned the word picanha, and it suddenly stopped being cheap rump cap. i wish it was still underrated so it could be a good budget steak again.

  6. Not that it means anything really but it has been chosen as the best dish of the year so I would say it is properly rated

I’ve never seen it for sale near me in my local grocery. I guess I need to find a butcher, long overdue anyway.

I’m glad it’s underrated, keeps it affordable. My local Brazilian market sells whole pichaña for $20. Love it!

  9. They sell these at Costco Charlotte and Costco Manhattan!

The very first one I ever made was from Snake River Farms and it was so delightful! So expensive. And so good!

Found a butcher locally that stocks picanha from different farms! And Wagyu picanha!!! Such great value for such great taste

American that has been living in Brazil for almost 3 years. The cuts are different here, the meat has much less marbling, and it isn’t aged (slaughter to packing). So in Brazil, imo picanha is the best readily available cut. It is also typically the most expensive. It’s a sirloin with a fat cap, imo much better cuts of meat available in the US.

  13. Bro really shut up before this is a million dollars a pound. Dont let them know

No, it is not. It’s not like an unknown cut. Everybody knows picanha.

Clearly the current generation doesnt know what underrated means

  16. Stuffinthingz

Absolutely… good news is, others not buying it allows me more selection…

  17. It’s sold at my local Publix. They always have it. Can sometimes find it at Winn Dixie too. Well loved cut of beef

  18. freefallingagain

    No, it’s rubbish.

The general public should stop buying it.*

*^(so the price comes down again)
