I usually let it go a little longer, but you’re probably OK to just pour the coals and let them ash over in the grill as long as most are well lit.

You guys are letting the coals go white before dumping? I tried different times and now usually dump after a few minutes since otherwise the bottom charcoal is white and the top still hasn’t lit all the way.

I see Weber briquettes in Weber chimney starter = 30 minutes to have at least 75% fully white and they’re ready to go. Doesnt matter if they’re white all the way to the top. Once you put it in, you’ll have 600F+ within a minute. If you don’t believe me, time it next time you’re starting it up.
