Canned my first veggies/non-stock jars! All my crops died this year so I was so sad to not have anything to can other than stock. I found a local farm with an email list that sells their yield to whoever may want some. I grabbed 10# of tomatillos and 2# of chile peppers, plus they threw in 3 large red peppers (not sure the kind). I used Ball Complete Home Preserving’s Tomatillo Salsa recipe and with the leftover peppers, we used their Pickled Peppers recipe. So much fun and my first time water bath canning.

My other favorite part is making the labels. I use Avery’s 22818 labels, I love the look of the brown label and they have such cute predone designs. My husband did the peppers so he was free to design his how we chose and well the lamp post was calling his name. Enya is the name of one of our dogs and we kept calling the peppers “bickled peppers” hence “Enya’s Bickled Beppers”.

Thanks to everyone who assured me that pureeing the salsa before canning was still safe. I appreciate y’all!🌶️

Thanks for the info on the labels! I’ve been wanting to make cute labels for my gift jams.
