The technical challenge on the most recent episode of bake-off looked fun and reasonably easy. I drew up my own recipe to replicate what I saw and, sure enough, very fun and reasonably easy!

If anyone cares I’m happy to share details. Always fun to learn a new recipe that impresses despite being quick and easy.

Bake on!

Would love your recipe if you don’t mind sharing!

Paul’s recipe is posted on the GBBO website. His is a lean dough (no milk or sugar) but he does use a couple tablespoons of olive oil, which helps the dough be more compliant for shaping into strands.

If the technical is the bake you want to try, the GBBO website posts the technical recipe after the program airs 😀 I do wonder if you came up with a better recipe than what was used on GBBO because your plaiting is so much better defined than the bakers produced. But maybe their time was too short?

Your plaiting is perfect and I love the join you did, it looks very elegant.
