I had a few potatoes starting to sprout. So I cut off the spouts and got out my mandoline and cut one very thin. Tossed a little smoked paprika, some garlic powder, and some Flatiron Pepper (the green one). And a touch of salt.
NO OIL!
Recipe said to microwave 4-5 min on parchment paper but if they are a little thick go for an additional 5. They go from golden to brown in an instant. (Total time about 7 min). Pretty good.
Then I thought what about the air fryer? I still had some slices left. So I looked up a recipe that said to soak the slices for 20 min and pat dry. Nope, mine already have spices on them. So I put them in for 330°F for 5 min, looked and added 2 more. Less brown but a touch chewier in the middle.
Pretty darn good. Wife can’t believe there’s no oil. Since one has to be a bit more intentional than just opening a bag and munching away, this is pretty good for calories.
