Cleaned up a little bit already. About to use a wheel on the grates and I am wondering if I should sand blast it because some of the paint is chipping off on the white outside part and the black inside? Thoughts? I did order a new flame tube already hoping the regulator is still working.

Nice score! I bought one of these when I lived in a condo and it’s come with me to many tailgates, camping trips, and boating trips since. It cooks as well as my full size Weber Genesis.

  2. Clean the interior and the grates. Once done, wipe both with a thin layer of cooking oil. Not much else needs done.

Edit: just saw the broken flame thing. Weber might sell replacement parts. Could check online or call and ask about replacement parts or a part number then search Ebay.

The grates are cast iron, just get them hot and scrape. You can then clean them with dish soap
And a brush. The inside of the grill is not painted. Just wipe off any loose bits

Personally, I would just hit the inside with the wire wheel, put the burner in, and start cookin. You can season the inside if you want.

Exactly like mine. I’ve had it ten years or so, replaced the burner tube once.
They are bullet proof and grill like a champ.
    Use it!

The grates are enameled cast iron, if they’re really dirty I usually soak mine with oven cleaner in a trash bag.

Once clean, no seasoning is needed.

The shell is aluminum so you probably wouldn’t want to use anything corrosive to aluminum to clean it. Looks great aready, usually the tables are missing or have lots of UV damage if they’re not taken care of.

Damn, nice find. They probably just needed that new gas tube! Lucky you
