I have learned to HATE CELEBRITIES. They get paid a zillion dollars to act, dribble a ball, sing a song, or otherwise contribute little to civilization besides entertain us. I've seen countless theatrical actors, music groups, or sports athletes playing at lower venues that would put these Hollywood celebrities to shame. Wipe your butts with your 2 cent political opinions Oprah, LeBron, Swift, Whopping, DeNiro, Springsteen, Streisand, and other such wipes. You are mere jesters in the courtyard.
I moved to the States at 12 and still have a slight accent. I never think I do. I tried so hard to get rid of it.
I moved here and went straight to middle school, speaking asolutely, no English. There was no internet so I couldn't learn on the internet. KIds in middle school we're pretty perplexed with me.Cause I went to school with them and didn't speak a word of english , most were nice. Some made fun of me as some middle schooler as will. I was so determined to learn and then determined to lose my accent.
But once a week or so, some stranger will say, "You've got an accent. Where are you from?"
