The front of it was gorgeous. It was growing on the fence so I never checked the back. Harvested it and heartbreak.

Bugs of some sort. Almost all of it is probably still fine to eat. If you peel it you’ll be able to see what parts of the flesh are actually damaged, and you can just trim closely around them or often just use a peeler to remove shallow damage.

If you have seen something that looks like stink bugs hanging around it’s probably squash bugs.
