I used to grab breakfast burritos from gas stations. Now steel cut oatmeal w/ flaxseed, pomegranate juice and fresh fruit. Feeling better and saving money.

Good for you! That is a very healthy breakfast, add 1/2 tsp of Ceylon cinnamon, 1/3 tsp Ginger, 1/4 tsp cloves and you’ll ramp up the antioxidant and anti inflammatory effect of your breakfast

That’s my breakfast too! I also toss in some dried goji berries before I warm it up. Healthy, and nice little bits of sweet-tart.

This is the way – every time I hear people say they can’t eat plant based because it’s too expensive I’m so confused… but then i realize that they’re trying to recreate that same gas station burrito with vegan options and that CAN get pricey..

but it really needs to be a whole shift to eat more simply – beans, potatoes, oats, veggies. I know fruit can be pricey but just buy what’s on sale or frozen. you won’t get the same fruits all the time but that’s even better. and frozen berries are just as good and last longer.

If you want a change from oatmeal you can make this same exact meal with pearled barley – so really not a change lol except you get a different grain and more variety for your gut.

I love pomegranate juice, but never thought to put it in something like oatmeal!

Oats look delicious! Note to self: use fresh press juice to sweeten
