I’d only ever gotten the roti tacos here, and I felt like switching things up so I blindly ordered two naan ones thinking they’d be about the same size. *Nope.* These are more like burritos than tacos, and after I saw them, their being $11 each made more sense to me. Anyway, it’s Taco Mahal, great stuff. This is the chicken curry one. The chana masala one I took home, and then ate over two more days.
I recently remembered that I could take the LIRR to Flushing instead of the 7, so I’ve been trying to accelerate my food excursions there. Niuddo was one rec from some old posts here so I gave them a shot. Excellent rice noodles and broth, and [their chili oil](https://i.imgur.com/2PRaeCi.jpg) has more kick than some other places I’ve been to, but I will say the “brisket” left something to be desired—just a few very small pieces, along with some cuts that definitely weren’t brisket. Still, I’d go back if I were in a soup mood.
Good if all you want is to eat on a cute WV corner, but man, don’t come here for an impressive breakfast. Frozen and barely-seasoned home fries; the “caramelized onions” in my omelet were anything but; OJ not fresh-squeezed. Really more like diner food than what I’d want to pay WV prices for.
[Here’s the menu](https://i.imgur.com/l55J0ZR.jpg) with three kinds of crunchwraps: Thai, Indian, and Southwest. I got the Thai one, and the crispy noodles were interesting but the avocado-basil-ranch kinda overtook everything and I felt it shouldn’t have been there. Unfortunately, I didn’t find out about this truck until the last day, so I didn’t have a chance to try the other two. I posted on r/LivingMas if you want to see [more photos](https://www.reddit.com/r/LivingMas/comments/1g87qgy/accidentally_nuked_my_own_postheres_the_taco_bell/).
I was in the mood for a fancy egg sandwich. Their “Uova Funghi” has scrambled egg, shrooms, gouda, lemon aioli and pancetta, and it’s delicious. $15, because this is the WV and Via Porta is a L’Artusi restaurant, but it’s a good-sized sandwich and I’d get it again.
They have an interesting menu ([menu 1](https://i.imgur.com/oonQQXd.jpeg), [menu 2](https://i.imgur.com/GSYWoxh.jpeg)). The chicken teriyaki was different from any teriyaki I’d had before. There was a sort of rich creaminess to the sauce, and, along with the rice, there were some corn and lettuce thrown in. The “Orlean chicken” intrigued me, and I heard one student say to another that it was sort of like barbecue. Might try that next.
Had high hopes for this place after walking by it and liking what I saw, but their thick-crust pizza didn’t impress me, I’m afraid, and that was after I’d had a lot to drink. Just sort of salty, not much other flavor going on. Maybe their other slices are better.

I haven’t had them in awhile, but I specifically remember the home fries from grey dog being wildly salty

Taco mahal is surprisingly tasty! I wrote them off but recently tried them… the lamb curry in roti is solid!

Thanks, ended up going to Taco mahal after seeing this post. Lamb curry was excellent. Actually doesn’t have much Mexican influence except putting curry on a naan.
bahnsigh
Mmmmm…. purple food…….

lol and this is just one reason why, after 20 years in nyc, I’m excited to spend time elsewhere. Nothing listed here, at all, is worth half of its hype. Covid created a talent flight, the vacuum was filled with this… mid ass food. I welcome your downvotes, long live Prune.
