Safety wise, your good, taste and texture wise, depends on the cut, on a good quality file, this would still be tender and delicious, on something tough this would suck to eat

The light honestly makes it a little hard to see but it looks good to me. Maybe a pinch on the rare side but I cannot be definitive w the shadow over it sorry

My husband would say it can never be too rare! 🙂

For whole muscle meat, I don’t worry even if it’s a little blue in the middle when I’m at home or in a decent restaurant. If it’s a really cheap, low effort place, I might be worried. If someone brought me a burger that color in the middle, I might have to send that back but whole muscle, all good.

That’s how I prefer my steaks.

It’s fine temp wise for sure.

By the time people answered, what was it?

I rarely comment on rare steaks but rearing hunger really raises the stakes.Tis the one reason I stakeout this reddit sub.

Yes, but I’d still eat it like that

I Im sorry, you sound like you like it done medium rare. That does look a little too rare for me too.

Only by the worlds TINIEST amount. Advice you get will bombard you and make you think you needed to cook an extra 20 minutes but honestly another not even 3 minutes and it would be perfect.

It needed the reverse sear just a bit longer to finish cooking the middle

I like it rare. If you want it done more, Sear it on high for an extra 20 seconds and let it sit for an extra few minutes. Looks great

Not if you like it. It’s not raw, it’s ok.

For me, but you do you. Some people eat raw hamburger in WI (cannibal sandwhich).

  14. Johnnysgotaproblem

For me yes, but maybe not for you.

    That’s a personal preference. You’re the judge.

In this specific instance, I’d say if there’s a good crust then it’s a yes for me.

    Everything looks good.

You probably wanna ask for medium(well) not rare if you don’t like it this rare.

For medium rare this perfection really nicely done

Not rare, you can order it at every restaurant or buy in the supermarket

The outside all looks like it has been brought to a high enough temperature for safety.

I char my edges much harder than that, but otherwise, this is how I prefer mine. But, I cook my own, so I can be confident about potential cross contamination during slicing after cooking.

Is it medium rare? Absolutely not. Safe? Yes, perfectly safe as long as cross contamination didn’t occur, but that would be true regardless of how cooked the inside is.

I hope that’s a little bit more clear than it seems to me to be.
