Still waiting on Karma requirements for r/CakeDecorating, so I’ll post here. Here are some cakes I’ve made recently! I’m looking to hobby bake for friends and family, so I’m working on improving my designs and techniques!

First cake is actually the most recent. My sister wanted a fairy/fae themed birthday cake and I made a treestump fairy house cake! All of the accents are handmade from handmade fondant (say that five times fast) including the top of the tree stump. The butterflies were wafers I bought online for the Lambeth cake for my other sister, and the exterior was piped with a Chocolate flavored American Dreamy Buttercream frosting from Sugarologie to get the bark appearance.

The second cake was my first real stab at more serious cake decorating. I wanted to try a vintage cake, so I made Swiss meringue buttercream and gave it a shot for my other sister. I was really proud of this one as it was the first time I got to use a cake scraper and the sides were smoother than any cake I’ve made before! Still some cleaning up to do with the piping work, but I was so thrilled with how that one turned out.

I’m currently working on a Space themed cake for my nephew’s first birthday, so I’ll hopefully have updated photos of that cake after this weekend, and I’m going to start working on my photography and lighting so the pictures look better too haha.
