Y’all, I got scared (1st pic) and put it back on (2nd pic). There’s a slight crust but not as much as normal. What are we looking at? Rare and Medium?

This is why we always check with a food thermometer. Anyone who cooks must own the free one (free from the USDA, thank me later). Anyone into steaks arguably should own a more expensive one that can be monitored wirelessly.

First pic was perfection. Second – overcooked.

First pic looked like a perfect medium rare to me.

Yeah I would most definitely eat that steak 🥩. Looks delicious 🤤 a nice medium rare steak I’d say!

First pic looks a tiny bit rare of perfect, but I’d be delighted to eat it. Second pic looks a bit past perfect, but I’d be delighted to eat it. The only suggestion I’d make is putting the fat cap straight on the pan to render it. If you did that, then cooked it the same way you did in the first pic, it would be perf.
