I truly loved this restaurant. It had a joyousness to it. Everyone seemed to enjoy working there. The room was bright and full of life. The servers were dressed in a kind of nautical theme, with light khaki pants, blue blazers, white shirts, and kerchiefs at the neck. Everyone spoke perfect English, but nicely tolerated my not-so-great German too. The sommelier was perhaps the best I have ever enjoyed. His enthusiasm was only exceeded by his knowledge and ability to share what he knew. The pours were good sized too for a wine-pairing. Enough to have a sip before the course arrived, but with still enough to have with the course, one sip after. This was definitely my favorite restaurant in Köln. (I will be later reviewing MaiBECK (*), Maxmillian Lorenz (*), and Hans Stube.)
