After months of drooling over the steaks in here, I decided to try making my own for the first time in my life. After a month of trial and error, I think I've nailed it! I cooked this NY Strip from my local butcher at 250 for about 50 mins. Then I let it rest while my cast iron skillet heated up with avocado oil, then I tossed it in there for 1 minute per side, flipping after 30 secs and putting a press on top of it. Then I let it sit for another 10-12 minutes before carving it up and finishing it with some Maldon salt and fresh ground pepper. Very proud of this one and it tasted delicious! Would love any feedback y'all have!

Perfect bro, looks amazing, this is exactly how I enjoy my steaks 😋 if only my wife enjoyed them this way instead of extra well-done with zero juice

Did you try dry brining during your month of trial and error? And if so do you prefer seasoning after cooking?

Looks great, though I prefer a little more red-I would not turn this down at all!

Good steak 👍🏻 would love to see how you would do with a higher grade of steak. Great work
