Plant looks pretty knackered and I haven't had much fruit this year. Have cut a few green ones off to sit in the daytime sun on a window sill but they haven't ripened.

Sometimes the fruit takes FOREVER to ripen. That being said, and I could be wrong, but it looks to me like you might have a virus. The leaves look mottled and distorted, so that’s a red flag for me.

They’re looking a lot better than mine did in the July heat here in Tokyo! I’d say let the green ones ride as long as they can. What are temps like in that little greenhouse?

Looks like these are in a greenhouse? If so, you can probably keep them on the vine for a few weeks or even a month after the first frost date. Longer of your greenhouse is heated.
